First Advantage, a Symphony Technology Group (STG) company and a leading provider of talent acquisition and electronic data solutions, announced recently the successful implementation of e-signature capability for Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) screening, available the first day allowed by the Internal Revenue Service. First Advantage began proactively working to release this enhancement that allows applicants and employers to digitally sign 8850 forms since the Internal Revenue Service issued Notice 2012-13 in February. Since the beginning of March, First Advantage has successfully processed thousands of electronically signed 8850 forms and employer adoption is growing steadily.

“We have been strong advocates for the use of electronic signature and are excited to deliver an enhancement that will drive significant benefits for our customers,” stated Dan Filby, executive vice president and managing director of tax consulting at First Advantage. “It eliminates a number of time-consuming steps in the process to certify an employee’s WOTC credit eligibility as well as offering our customers cost savings by reducing shipping costs associated with hard copy forms. The overall benefit to employers will be substantial, and we are thrilled to have been able to deliver it to our clients on the first day.”

For the past 10 years, thousands of companies have relied on First Advantage’s extensive expertise in navigating the tax credit landscape and providing significant opportunities for employers to positively affect their communities as well as their own bottom line.
