HRchitect Tech Vendor News: Bullhorn Acquires The Code Works Inc. to Power Cloud-Based Data Integration and Intelligence

August 18, 2014

Bullhorn, the global leader in customer relationship management (CRM) software for the staffing and recruiting industries, today announced that it has acquired The Code Works Inc. – the makers of VMS Access, a cloud-based software product that integrates corporate procurement and vendor management systems (VMS) like SAP’s Fieldglass with CRM systems. VMS Access currently automates the data integration and workflow for filling job openings at over 350 of the world’s largest companies and enables staffing agencies to increase service levels, win more business, and improve productivity by reducing time-to-fill and data entry time.  As companies of all sizes migrate to SaaS-based services, Bullhorn will leverage The Code Works Inc.’s multi-national R&D team to develop integration solutions that will power new services enabling front office productivity improvements through the Bullhorn platform.

Key services offerings to be developed on the platform will include those for managed service providers (MSPs). Bullhorn currently provides client portals, candidate portals, and vendor portals to enable staffing agencies to act as MSPs or sub-vendors and operate different lines of business within Bullhorn, and the company will use The Code Works Inc.’s technology as a platform upon which to further develop technologies that enable agencies to operate and compete effectively in a world in which VMS usage is proliferating. The Code Works Inc. team’s much-valued industry knowledge in combination with considerable R&D resources from Bullhorn will help take Bullhorn’s existing MSP offering and accelerate it into an industry-leading suite of solutions to benefit staffing agencies of all sizes looking to capitalise on this rapidly-growing market.

Bullhorn acquires The Code Works Inc. as contingent labour demand is soaring thanks to increased globalisation, outsourcing, and the growing costs of hiring and retaining permanent employees. Addressing this trend, 70 percent of large buyers of temporary labour (including Fortune 500 companies) are now leveraging VMS solutions to streamline contingent workforce management. Spend flowing through VMS systems is growing at a rate of more than 20 percent per year – considerably faster than growth in overall staffing spend. The acquisition of The Code Works Inc. adds a proven, seamless integration between core recruitment system providers to enable agencies to take advantage of a market worth £24.1 billion in the UK alone.

“With this acquisition, we’re enabling companies to move their front office solutions to the cloud and to take advantage of Web-enabled services that power better decision-making and additional revenue opportunities,” said Art Papas, Founder and CEO of Bullhorn. “Bullhorn VMS Access will help drive Bullhorn’s growth in the VMS industry and beyond. This vendor neutral solution extends Bullhorn’s product portfolio and will allow us to develop new offerings to help improve customer productivity. Long-term, the Bullhorn VMS Access development team will help drive the development of Bullhorn’s data integration offerings, fundamental to our cloud-based Big Data offerings.  To drive better decision-making, companies are looking to integrate data from a variety of sources online; Bullhorn VMS Access will provide that engine for our customers.”

Jonathan Novich, Co-Founder and President of The Code Works Inc., will become Bullhorn’s new General Manager of Cloud-Based Integration Technologies. “I’m thrilled to be joining Bullhorn for several reasons,” said Novich. “First, they’re the clear market leader, so it makes good business sense to be aligned with them and to leverage their expansive resources to grow our offerings and provide better service to customers. Being a part of the Bullhorn family will enable rapid product expansion and accelerated platform development for customers of Bullhorn and The Code Works Inc. Beyond that, they have a strong vision for the future with Bullhorn providing a comprehensive set of cloud-based, front office services to help companies manage their customer relationships better. We’re excited to be part of that vision.”

HRchitect Tech Vendor News: Bullhorn and LinkedIn Team Up to Streamline the Recruiter Workflow

June 9, 2014

Bullhorn ATS/CRM and LinkedIn Recruiter Integration Boosts Recruiting Agency Productivity; Bullhorn Will Demo Integration at Bullhorn Live Conference

Boston, MA – May 7, 2014 – Bullhorn®, the global leader in recruiting software, today announced the integration of the Bullhorn applicant tracking system and customer relationship management system (ATS/CRM) with LinkedIn Recruiter. This is a huge productivity enhancement for users of the Bullhorn ATS/CRM and LinkedIn Recruiter as it enables them to work inside Bullhorn uninterrupted while reaping the functional benefits of LinkedIn Recruiter. LinkedIn, which operates the world’s largest professional network on the Internet, recently surpassed 300 million members worldwide. Bullhorn is the first staffing-specific ATS/CRM product with which LinkedIn has chosen to integrate, testament to Bullhorn’s large share of the recruiting agency market and leadership in the recruiting software space.

The API-based integration will enable users of the Bullhorn ATS/CRM who also use LinkedIn Recruiter to view candidates’ or clients’ LinkedIn records within Bullhorn. While in LinkedIn Recruiter, users will also be able to see if the profile they’re viewing has a contact record in Bullhorn, via an “In Bullhorn” badge. The LinkedIn record will display the link to the Bullhorn record. Users will be able to click through the badge to view the record in Bullhorn, streamlining the workflow between the Bullhorn ATS/CRM product and LinkedIn Recruiter platform, reducing the need to shuffle from window to window, and improving user productivity.

The integration is extremely valuable because it allows recruiters to take advantage of two different data sets: the data in a Bullhorn record, which is supplied by the agency user, and the data in LinkedIn, which is continually updated by the candidate. By merging these two data sets, the combined offering delivers the most up-to-date central repository of information on a client or candidate.

In the future, the integration between the Bullhorn ATS/CRM and LinkedIn Recruiter will include bulk linking capability. Additionally, in the future, any InMails and Notes sent through LinkedIn will be visible in the Bullhorn ATS/CRM and appended to a candidate or client’s Bullhorn record – a huge productivity enhancement that further improves the quality of an agency’s applicant database.

“This integration is great news for Bullhorn users,” said Art Papas, founder and CEO of Bullhorn. “Both LinkedIn and Bullhorn know that recruiter speed and productivity is absolutely paramount to agency success. The more time recruiters spend in the Bullhorn ATS/CRM, working productively, the better it is for them, their agency, their candidates, and their clients. The integration between LinkedIn Recruiter and Bullhorn enables users to reap the benefits of LinkedIn’s record quality and accuracy from directly within the Bullhorn ATS/CRM, which in turn improves the quality of data in their ATS records to help them make the right placements faster – a win-win for their entire agency.”

“Thousands of firms worldwide choose LinkedIn to help them find the right candidates for their clients,” said James Volpentest, LinkedIn’s senior director of search and staffing sales for North America. “We are very excited about our integration with Bullhorn as it will ensure our executive search and staffing customers are getting the most value from their LinkedIn Recruiter investment.”

HRchitect Tech Vendor News: Recruiting Agencies Use Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding for Quick and Secure New Hire Document Management

June 9, 2014

Customers Can Reduce New Hire Onboarding Process Time by 60%

Boston, MA – May 12, 2014 – Bullhorn®, the global leader in recruiting software, today announced the availability of Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding, a new module which provides electronic new hire document management capabilities designed specifically for staffing and recruiting agencies. Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding enables contract staffing agencies to create unlimited forms for their clients, automatically enter placement data such as contractor names and addresses, and provide secure access to an online portal for easy form completion.

Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding is part of the Bullhorn Back Office product suite, which, alongside the Bullhorn ATS/CRM, provides an end-to-end solution for recruiting agency processes. Bullhorn Back Office also includes Time and Expense, Time and Expense Mobile, Invoices, and Commissions modules. By tracking the progress of each placement’s documents online using Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding, contract staffing firms can send electronic reminders to candidates with outstanding paperwork and know when to escalate and call candidates directly. In just a few months of use, one customer has reduced the time spent completing new hire paperwork and E-Verify processes by 60% using Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding.

Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding enables staffing firms to:

  • Create new hire documents easily by seamlessly importing/merging Bullhorn data
  • Quickly address diverse client and job requirements
  • Store new hire documents securely and ensure compliance with data protection mandates
  • Confirm that candidates are eligible for employment in the United States using E-Verify

Conversely, it also provides benefits to contractors, who can:

  • Sign pre-populated new hire documents electronically, avoiding back-and-forth trips to the staffing agency
  • Receive speedy notifications and reminders if forms are not completed properly
  • Rest assured that their sensitive data is secure in Bullhorn’s SSAE 16 Type II compliant data centers

The entire Bullhorn Back Office product suite was designed from the ground up, by staffing professionals, for staffing professionals. Uniquely suited to meet the needs of staffing firms and facilitate growth for Bullhorn customers, Bullhorn Back Office has rapidly increased in popularity since its launch in July of 2013. Hundreds of Bullhorn ATS/CRM customers now use Bullhorn Back Office, trusting Bullhorn for their end-to-end recruiting software needs.

“It’s extremely important for us to have a seamless, end-to-end solution for both our front and back office processes – and we have that with the addition of Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding,” said Quinn Salamandra, Chief Operating Officer at Corporate Brokers. “We were using another electronic onboarding tool previously and switched to Bullhorn because we knew it would offer us better data integrity and reduce errors. Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding helps improve our agency brand in the eyes of our consultants and contractors. And it gives us valuable visibility into and control over the onboarding process; we see when a contractor is going through their new hire paperwork. Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding will save us hours of onboarding time per new contractor compared to the electronic tool we used before. The benefits for customers using manual tools will be considerably more dramatic.”

“Bullhorn’s products are designed to improve recruiting professionals’ efficiency and productivity,” said Gordon Burnes, Chief Marketing Officer at Bullhorn, “and the new Bullhorn Back Office Onboarding module takes the hassle out of completing and processing new hire forms to the benefit of contractors and staffing firms. We’re helping to end the back office paper chase, once and for all.”

May 1, 2014

Fast-Growing Consulting and Recruiting Conglomerate Selects Bullhorn on Strength of Enterprise-Scale CRM

Boston, MA – April 24, 2014 – Bullhorn®, the global leader in recruiting software, today announced that Vaco – a conglomerate of accounting, financial, IT, and administrative consulting and recruiting firms – has chosen the Bullhorn ATS/CRM to streamline its recruiting processes and improve productivity across all 29 of its offices.  Vaco will use the Bullhorn applicant tracking system (ATS), customer relationship management system (CRM), and Bullhorn Back Office time and expense management solution to power its end-to-end recruiting processes for more than 300 users.

Vaco, which evaluated the latest release from existing solution Bond Adapt as well as solutions from eRecruit, SmartSearch and TalentRover, chose Bullhorn for the following primary reasons:

·         Bullhorn’s true cloud product offerings, which will give Vaco the advantage of rapid deployment, user access from anywhere, and lower long-term support and IT costs as they grow

·         The productivity gains seen by Bullhorn users, which have been proven to produce results such as increased placements for clients – on time and on budget

·         Bullhorn’s investment in product innovations such as multi-browser support, lightning-fast search, and an easy-to-use interface (more than $1 million per month into research and development)

·         Bullhorn’s high level of usage by Vaco’s peers in the recruiting and staffing industry, underscoring the value of its fast, user-friendly solutions

“Bullhorn’s significant investment into their technologies and cloud-based product line stood out in the ATS marketplace,” said Chris Cummings, Vaco’s CIO. “Coupling this with their proven ability to drive high end user adoption, we’re looking forward to a unified Vaco technology platform that encourages continuity and collaboration across our offices.”

Vaco hopes that standardizing on Bullhorn will help improve adoption of recruiting software within its network of 29 offices located across the United States. Unifying their operating branches under Bullhorn’s combined ATS/CRM will lead to an increase in efficiencies and visibility into the business on both a macro and micro level.

“The players at Vaco are so client, candidate, and consultant focused they’d find a way to serve them with an etch-a-sketch and an Atari 2600.  It is so exciting to arm these driven performers with the world class ATS/CRM system that Bullhorn provides.” said Jerry Bostelman, CEO of Vaco.  “It is also a great joy to partner with a company that shares Vaco’s entrepreneurial zeal, will to win, transparent communication, and commitment to collaborative solutions.”

Vaco’s recruiters will use Bullhorn’s S Release – the fastest version of the Bullhorn ATS/CRM ever built. With an emphasis on recruiters’ speed and productivity, Vaco anticipates that Bullhorn will help increase automation, reduce administrative time and interruptions as well as improve the bottom line for its producers.

“Vaco is experiencing incredible growth,” said Justin Teague, COO at Bullhorn. “Their ‘local ownership with national reach’ strategy has really paid off from both a client and candidate service perspective and a revenue generation standpoint. They’re looking for an enterprise partner that is built to last alongside them, and designed to scale as they grow. They have that with Bullhorn. No other partner in the market can offer the same peace of mind.”
