Cited as “The Learning Leader” in Comprehensive Analysis of Current Offerings

HRchitect featured Plateau in our release of The Suite Life of Integrated Talent Management and also includes them in our list of top Talent Management Systems and Learning Management Systems vendors that businesses should consider. Jeff Kristick, Sr. VP Marketing of Plateau Systems appeared on the HRchitect WebMingle on April 3, 2009.

If you are looking for a new Talent Management System, or any HR system, don’t rely solely on “recommendations” or published reports. Do yourself a huge favor and talk to HRchitect first. After 14 years, HRchitect has unparalleled knowledge of the HR and Talent Management vendor community and can save you time and money in selection and implementation. Simply put, do not invest in any kind of HR technology without consulting with the experts first. HRchitect is always available to help!

Plateau Systems has been positioned as a “Leader” in the The Forrester Wave™: Talent Management, Q2 2011, published this week (May 23, 2011) by Forrester Research, Inc. Plateau achieved positioning in the Leaders Waves across Performance, Learning and Integrated Performance and Learning, and was cited as “the Learning Leader” in the report.

The report states: “In Forrester’s 108-criteria evaluation of talent management vendors that offer suites for both learning and performance, we found that Plateau edged out [the other evaluated vendors] for the top spot. Plateau’s stellar core learning functionality, coupled with advancements in performance management, boosted it to the top of the Leader category.”

The Plateau Talent Management Suite allows HR leaders and managers to bring the best out of their people — by automating and improving key talent management processes, delivering ongoing learning and development, and providing critical insight about the workforce.

“Plateau has been recognized as a leader in talent management, and was cited as the learning leader, one of the most critical aspects of talent management,” said Paul Sparta, chairman and CEO of Plateau Systems. “I’m immensely proud of the technology innovation and customer support that are behind our position as a leader in the Forrester Wave.”

Plateau recently entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by SuccessFactors, the global leader in business execution cloud-based SaaS software, which is expected to close in summer 2011. Following the close of the acquisition, Plateau Learning and other products will be integrated with SuccessFactors’ BizX suite.

“The newest industry assessment of who is strongest in Learning brings tears to our eyes at SuccessFactors, and warrants our investment thesis. Reorganization that Plateau ‘edged out [the other evaluated vendors]‘ and words like ‘stellar core learning functionality’ shows that our acquisition combines the clear best-in-class in Learning, with SuccessFactors’ best-in-class Talent Management. No. 1 and no. 1 respectively joining hands to provide total cradle-to-grave people applications, including hiring and onboarding, the system of record for content, formal, informal and social learning, and all talent management, social and collaboration, and reporting and analytics — delivered in the cloud in every part of the world,” said Lars Dalgaard, founder and CEO of SuccessFactors. “I’d like to congratulate Paul and his team for achieving this recognition as a Leader from Forrester Research, and I personally can’t wait to start working with them as part of the SuccessFactors team.”

Dalgaard continued, “That Plateau was also recognized as the leader in combined Performance and Learning shows us that their expertise extends beyond just learning to master the key integration points and data flows that encompass an end-to-end employee engagement platform, and that this problem has already been figured out in the best possible way for our customers to enjoy. In fact, the first integrated customers are live and we are excited about the many new customers that have called us already in anticipation of what is to come in combining Plateau and SuccessFactors.”

Kenexa (NASDAQ:KNXA), a global provider of business solutions for human resources, announced today that it has been named a major player in IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Integrated Talent Management 2011 Vendor Analysis  for the third consecutive year. Kenexa was assessed and included in the report based on the strength of its global integrated talent management capabilities and strategies.

In the report, IDC identified Kenexa as a major player “with strengths in global reach, a force of hundreds of PhDs knowledgeable in talent and assessment, a strong consulting practice, and a large R&D organization that takes advantage of offshore resources.” The analysis highlighted Kenexa’s 2x™ release and discussed how the recent Salary.com acquisition may further differentiate the company in the future.

IDC’s 2011 MarketScape report evaluated the offerings and prospects of the worldwide integrated talent management market’s leading providers based on detailed criteria that IDC identifies as key factors contributing to vendor success. The results are based on both quantitative and qualitative characteristics that determine each service provider’s current capabilities and future strategies. IDC noted several key success factors for talent management—customer service, innovation and growth strategy—and placed greater weight on how well the companies execute than they have in past years.

“The vendors serving the market for integrated talent management have advanced their offerings in features and functions through both organic development and acquisition,” commented Lisa Rowan, program director, HR, Talent, and Learning Strategies for IDC. “Despite a number of acquisitions, the market is still crowded, so consolidations will likely continue. Lawson Software to Acquire Enwisen…from Lawson Software

December 21, 2010

Lawson and Enwisen together represent one of the broadest sets of Human Capital Management solutions in the industry

HRchitect includes Lawson in our list of top HRIS vendors that businesses should consider. If you are looking for a new Talent Management System, or any HR system, talk to HRchitect first. HRchitect has unparalleled knowledge of the HR and Talent Management vendor community and can save you time and money in selection and implementation. Simply put, do not invest in any kind of HR technology without consulting with the experts first. HRchitect is always available to help!

Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) announced recently that it will acquire Enwisen, a leading software-as-a-service provider of human resource service delivery solutions used by many of the world’s leading companies. After adding Enwisen, HR service delivery will become a new strategic component of the Lawson Human Capital Management (HCM) System, giving Lawson one of the broadest solution sets targeted at the HCM software market. The all-cash transaction of $70 million is subject to customary regulatory approvals and approval by Enwisen’s shareholders. The agreement also includes a contingent earnout payment of $5 million cash if certain conditions have been satisfied as of June 30, 2012. Lawson expects the acquisition to close by Dec. 31, 2010.

Based in Novato, Calif., privately owned Enwisen has approximately 260 customers, including many in the Fortune 1000. The Enwisen AnswerSource HR Service Delivery suite helps companies transform and improve their delivery of HR services using fewer resources and lowering costs. Although many companies have implemented self-service HR software in their organizations, Enwisen further reduces the administrative burden on HR teams by giving managers, employees and HR customer service reps (CSRs) easy access to the information they need via a web-based portal and knowledgebase rich in personalized, relevant HR content. Enwisen solutions can also deliver significant cost savings for customers, whether implemented as a standalone solution or as part of broader HR transformation.

The Enwisen AnswerSource suite includes:

  • HR Knowledge Base/Portal – is a single point of access that delivers personalized HR content, including employee and manager policies, benefit information, handbooks and other essential HR information in two-clicks or less, and integrated with self-service transactions. This makes it easier for employees to find the right information in one place and answer their own HR questions up to 90 percent of the time without HR intervention.
  • Shared Services (HR Case Management) – is an HR case management solution that integrates with the personalized knowledgebase and allows CSRs to achieve more than 90 percent first call resolution; also allows employers to manage higher call volumes with significantly fewer CSRs.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding – provides a rich, personalized new-hire experience that increases employee engagement and retention while streamlining costs and processes. This solution also provides tours and workflows to help employees through transitions such as starting or ending their jobs with a company. It also allows for more robust content such as video to help bring new employees onboard more effectively.
  • Total Rewards – provides a comprehensive, online view of an employee’s total reward and compensation package. This includes modeling tools that allows employees to conduct a variety of “what if” scenarios relating to their compensation. It also allows the employer to help employees better understand the company’s total financial commitment to them, which can help improve employee retention and participation in voluntary saving programs such as 401(k) and employee stock purchase programs.

Enwisen has been a Lawson strategic partner since 2008. Through the existing partnership, Lawson has packaged and sold the AnswerSource products to Lawson customers, resulting in these products already working in tandem with Lawson HR solutions. After the acquisition is complete, the Lawson Human Capital Management system will include Human Resource Management, Talent Management, Workforce Management and the new component, HR Service Delivery. The HR Service Delivery solutions can be purchased and implemented independently or as part of the total Lawson HCM suite. Lawson is committed to current Enwisen customers no matter what HR information system solution a customer is using. Lawson also plans to maintain, enhance and market the Enwisen HR Service Delivery suite to the Enwisen customer base and future customers who may be running varied HRIS platforms.

This acquisition supports Lawson’s growth strategy by adding a new set of proven products and services for customers in one of the company’s fastest growing markets. With more than 1,000 customers using Lawson’s Human Capital Management products, HCM is a significant component of Lawson’s business. It is also a key growth market that the company is targeting with new solutions like Lawson Talent Management, Lawson Workforce Management and now HR Service Delivery.

“Companies want to transform how HR services are delivered to their employees, simplify these services and reduce the costs associated with them,” said Larry Dunivan, senior vice president of Human Capital Management products for Lawson. “This acquisition extends the level and quality of self-service capabilities. It delivers greater value to the employee as well as the employer. At the same time, Enwisen customers will benefit from Lawson’s strength, leadership and commitment to advancing HR service delivery solutions as a key component of HR transformation.”
