January 5, 2010

If you are looking for a new Talent Management System, or any HR system, talk to HRchitect first. We have unparalleled knowledge of the HR and Talent Management vendor community and can save you time and money in selection and implementation.

As further evidence of its commitment to the Human Capital Management marketplace, Bedford Funding, a private equity firm with $800 million in available capital specializing in investments in the software and IT sector, today announced its $100 million acquisition of Peopleclick, the leading provider of Talent Acquisition and Workforce Compliance and Diversity solutions. Peopleclick will join with Authoria, an existing Bedford Funding portfolio company which was the industry’s first provider of fully-integrated Talent Management solutions. The combination of these two leading independent brands, which will now operate under the Peopleclick Authoria (The Company) name, brings an unmatched suite of Talent Management software, services and consulting solutions to enterprise businesses around the world. Charles S. Jones, Managing Partner of Bedford Funding, will assume the role of Chairman and CEO of Peopleclick Authoria, effective immediately.

“Enterprise customers who are addressing increasing global workforce complexity and managing thousands, or even tens of thousands, of employees expect deep software functionality in the specific Talent Management disciplines they are enabling, whether it be recruiting, compensation, performance management, succession planning, compliance or vendor management. That said, with every silo or multi-silo function purchase, all enterprise customers come to the table with a long-term vision for a full suite of compatible and integrated Talent Management solutions so they can successfully apply a range of employee data toward desired business outcomes,” said Mr. Jones. “We are excited to now provide current and prospective customers the powerful combination of two leading brands and two deeply innovative and comprehensive suite providers in Talent Acquisition and Talent Management. With this integration we are delivering the first best-of-breed suite available in the market from one single-source vendor.”

Peopleclick Authoria is currently serving nearly 60 percent of the Fortune 100 and has proven expertise in meeting the needs of large global customers. The combined company has expressly committed to the ongoing support of all product lines offered by Authoria and Peopleclick prior to the union, and it will deliver key integration and innovation elements in order to provide broader capability for existing customers and one of the most comprehensive talent lifecycle solutions for new customers.

“Peopleclick Authoria represents the union of two strong players in the fast-growing Talent Management systems market,” said Josh Bersin, President and CEO of Bersin & Associates. “Both companies are product and market leaders in their segments, and together they bring scale and depth of management to drive growth and even greater customer value.”

All aspects of the Peopleclick business, including the Vendor Management System and the Compliance and Diversity businesses, will be integrated, along with the Talent Acquisition products, into a comprehensive Talent Management offering with Authoria’s existing suite. The Compliance and Diversity business previously within Peopleclick, combined with the full suite of post-hire talent management capabilities, is at the forefront of supporting the diverse workforce priorities and regulatory compliance initiatives of global customers for both companies. By extending customers’ ability to effectively control their contingent workforces, Peopleclick Authoria’s Vendor Management System offers customers the ability to fully manage the talent acquisition process — whether such talent is permanently added to an organization or considered on a contingent basis — to meet critical staffing and organizational performance needs within budget.

The full spectrum of Talent Acquisition and Talent Management products available through Peopleclick Authoria will continue to be sold independently or as part of a suite offering, and the Company will be delivering an Appreciation Program, which will reward the purchase of expanded suite functionality with discounted packaged pricing models, in the coming months to existing customers of both companies. In further support of customer initiatives in the coming year, the Company has made additional investments in the engineering and services groups to optimize the delivery of new functionality and integrations to customers in the U.S. through four data centers and eight offices spread across North America and internationally through an E.U. data center and locations in India, Belgium and the United Kingdom.

“As a customer of both Authoria and Peopleclick, I can already see how this will make an immediate impact on Talent Management,” said Brandy Fulton, VP of HR Operations, Citrix. “Recruiting really is the portal through which all employees pass and combining the rich functionality of Peopleclick’s offerings with Authoria’s comprehensive Talent Management suite closes the loop between Talent Acquisition and performance, compensation and succession. I enjoy working with, and have the greatest respect for, both Peopleclick and Authoria, and I look forward to seeing the products and functionality the combined organization will bring to the market.”

Mr. Jones, who has spent much of his career as an operating executive for a wide range of large public international companies and small growth-driven private companies, has a reputation for innovation and customer-centric growth strategies. He has a proven and highly successful track record in integrating software companies, identifying key inflection points of differentiation and unleashing the inherent value to the market. His desire to run this combined business is a powerful commitment to customers and a meaningful endorsement of his understanding of the importance of integrated Talent Management solutions for enterprise companies around the world.

Before becoming Managing Partner of Bedford Funding, Mr. Jones was Chairman and then CEO of Markham, Ontario-based Geac Computer Corporation, a Toronto Stock Exchange listed software company with annual revenues approaching U.S. $500 million. During Mr. Jones’s tenure, he transformed the Geac business with two large public-company acquisitions and built an innovative and market leading business intelligence software enterprise focused on the financial value chain. On October 1, 2001, The Wall Street Journal named Geac the number one performing global stock. In 2004, Mr. Jones was named on the top 25 list of CEOs in Canada and, in 2005, on the top 10 list of CEOs in Canada by Canada’s National Post newspaper.

Ron Kupferman, former Chairman and CEO of Peopleclick, and Jim McDevitt, former CEO of Authoria, will both operate as Vice Chairmen, working on Business Development activities in their respective markets.

Peopleclick currently serves more than 2,100 clients in 214 countries and territories, including 54 Fortune 100, and has strong vertical market presence in retail and health care, while recognizing employer preference for hourly or part-time employment in an increasingly regulated workplace environment. The organization was recently placed in the “Leaders” Quadrant of Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant” for E-Recruitment Software* based on its vision and ability to execute. Peopleclick also received the highest Market Readiness score of any vendor in The Aberdeen(TM) AXIS on Talent Acquisition report based on its ability to support its current installed base and bring new, award-winning products to market, among other key performance indicators.

Peopleclick Releases Complimentary eBook on Maintaining Compliance While Using Social Networks for Recruiting…from Peopleclick

August 22, 2009

This eBook Discusses the Use of Social Networks and Employment Law

HRchitect includes Peopleclick in our list of top Talent Acquisition Systems vendors that businesses should consider. Peopleclick participated in the Talent Acquisition Systems panel on June 10, 2009 as part of theHRshow event. If you are looking for a new Talent Management System, or any HR system, talk to HRchitect first. We have unparalleled knowledge of the HR and Talent Management vendor community and can save you time and money in selection and implementation.

Peopleclick, Inc., the leading global provider of talent acquisition and workforce compliance and diversity solutions, announces today the release of the complimentary eBook, Social Networks and Employment Law. Dr. Lisa Harpe from the Peopleclick® Research Institute and author of the eBook, discusses the compliance regulations HR professionals encounter when using social and professional networking sites as part of their talent acquisition strategy. Click here to download the complimentary eBook from Peopleclick.

As the popularity of social and professional networking rises, recruiters, organizations and candidates are using Web 2.0 technologies to gain insight into each other. However, there are several federal anti-discrimination regulations that must be considered when organizations utilize these sites for recruiting and hiring purposes. In the eBook, Dr. Harpe reviews how organizations can avoid disparate treatment and disparate impact claims when using social networks for recruiting.

“Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter offer an excess of information about job seekers applying for any open requisition in the marketplace today,” said Dr. Lisa Harpe, PhD, Sr. Consultant and Industrial Organizational Psychologist at the Peopleclick® Research Institute. “The novelty around these sites overshadows the fact that using these technologies for recruiting and hiring carries with it many legal obligations. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the laws and regulations behind using these sites in the talent acquisition process as employers utilize these networks to consider individuals for employment, verify employment data, evaluate qualifications or use an applicant’s leisure activities as a basis for making hiring decisions. All methods used to make employment decisions are considered selection procedures and subject to anti-discrimination regulations.”

As social networks gain momentum as a viable resource for candidates to job search and for organizations to connect with potential applicants, it is important to be aware of the consequences of using these technologies for sourcing, recruiting and hiring. By following the recommendations found in the Social Networks and Employment Law eBook, organizations can be confident they are using social networking as a part of their talent acquisition strategy without discrimination and in compliance with federal law.

Peopleclick Partners with Burning Glass to Offer Advanced Resume Parsing Capabilities…from Peopleclick

August 11, 2009

Enhanced Searching Helps Recruiters Effectively Find Top Talent

HRchitect includes Peopleclick in our list of top Talent Acquisition Systems vendors that businesses should consider. Peopleclick participated in the Talent Acquisition Systems panel on June 10, 2009 as part of theHRshow event. If you are looking for a new Talent Management System, or any HR system, talk to HRchitect first. We have unparalleled knowledge of the HR and Talent Management vendor community and can save you time and money in selection and implementation.

Peopleclick, Inc., the leading global provider of talent acquisition and workforce compliance and diversity solutions, announced today a strategic partnership with Burning Glass, a top provider of resume processing, screening and searching technology. This partnership is highlighted in the release of the Peopleclick Recruitment Management System (RMS) 4.9 and will further advance Peopleclick’s resume parsing capabilities.

With robust data extraction and resume parsing, the Burning Glass technology, Lens/Xray, enables a candidate’s resume content to be processed more effectively. By expediting the registration and application process, applicants will receive an improved candidate experience, reduction in data entry and the ability to apply for multiple positions with ease.

This partnership will also deliver the following resume parsing enhancements:

  • Enhanced Explicit Searching – Data parsed from a candidate’s resume can be stored as fielded data, giving recruiters the ability to search for specific values within a candidate’s resume. Examples of search criteria include school, major, minor, degree or employer; these searches return precise results based on the defined criteria.
  • Improved Candidate Experience – When candidates provide their resume early in the application process, essential information is extracted and used to pre-populate registration, application and contact information forms. This simplifies the application process, making it less time-consuming for the candidate.
  • Complete Data Validation by the Candidate – Once data is parsed from a candidate’s resume, it can be immediately stored in the database, or it can be presented back to the candidate for validation. This provides several options for data validation to ensure the candidate and recruiting team has access to accurate information.

“With more people applying for open positions than ever before, advanced resume parsing technology can streamline the application process and lessen the burden of redundant data entry for candidates,” said Ginny Gomez, SVP of Product Management and Marketing at Peopleclick. “As recruiters face an influx of applications and less time in their workday, they are continuously searching for more effective ways to find the right candidates. The combination of the Burning Glass and Peopleclick technologies further improves the ability to accommodate a recruiter’s hectic schedule by making it easier to search and locate the A-players within their talent pool.”

Industry Research Confirms Peopleclick’s Leading Contract Labor Management and Talent Acquisition Strategy…from Peopleclick

February 17, 2009

Aberdeen Provides Detailed Research on Leveraging Contingent Labor during the Current Economy

HRchitect includes Peopleclick in our list of top Talent Acquisition Systems vendors that businesses should consider.

Peopleclick, Inc., the leading global talent acquisition solutions provider, announced today the release of Aberdeen Group’s Contract Labor Management: Superior Workforce Strategies for a Demanding Market report. This research includes data from over 330 executives that were evaluated on how their contract labor strategies are successfully managed and executed during the current economic environment. The complete report is available for complimentary download at www.peopleclick.com.

Enterprises continue to leverage contingent labor strategies to combat the effects of today’s economy, seeking to find quality candidates when they cannot hire permanent headcount. The research report shows that 51 percent of the organizations surveyed believe the use of contract labor will increase over the next two years.

This research also indicates that leveraging vendor management system (VMS) technology can help organizations manage compliance, cost, speed and depth of their contingent labor program. The report stated that 61 percent of Best-in-Class organizations actively utilize VMS technology, but only 31 percent have the ability to analyze trends through workforce planning analytics. The lack of an integrated reporting solution makes it difficult to quantify the need for contingent labor and its effect on overall business performance. Understanding these needs are the key to running an effective contingent labor program, and this report indicates that 52 percent of companies surveyed plan to increase visibility into their spend, as a means of reducing cost and gathering valuable information.

“By leveraging VMS tools in the management of contingent labor, organizations are experiencing numerous benefits,” said Christopher Dwyer, Aberdeen research analyst and author of the report. “VMS technology streamlines the entire contract labor lifecycle while sourcing quality candidates. Enterprises currently utilizing VMS solutions have effectively increased visibility into their contingent labor spend by 32 percent.”

“Peopleclick provides robust technology that has helped us create our contingent workforce blueprint,” said Janis Glick, Manager of SMS External IT Resource Management for Nationwide. “With the Peopleclick® Vendor Management System, we are able to gain complete visibility and transparency into our contingent workforce, make informed business decisions and secure the best talent available.”

“The latest Aberdeen report confirms our vision to provide a platform that manages salaried, hourly and contingent labor,” said Ginny Gomez, Senior Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at Peopleclick. “Now more than ever, organizations are looking for ways to utilize their contract labor workforce. As a leading vendor management solution provider, Peopleclick provides technology that helps companies analyze and gain visibility across their entire workforce through true business intelligence.”
