Partnership Will Help RedCarpet Users Identify Onboarding & Recruiting Trouble Spots

SilkRoad, a leading global provider of cloud-based social talent management software, recently announced a partnership with HR survey/analytics authority Nobscot Corporation designed to combine the power of SilkRoad’s RedCarpet® HR onboarding system with Nobscot’s automated FirstDays new hire/quality of hire surveys to help companies optimize their HR and recruitment policies and procedures.

RedCarpet customers can now use FirstDays as well as Nobscot’s WebExit exit interview management system to identify and correct irritants that can cause costly employee attrition. In addition, FirstDays and WebExit customers can now use RedCarpet to help solve the problems identified by the Nobscot surveys.

RedCarpet automates new hire orientation and onboarding processes while also managing employee transitions such as promotions, transfers and offboarding. Content ranging from welcome messages and new employee forms to schedules, training and other supporting materials is delivered through a customizable employee portal, streamlining HR operations.

FirstDays online surveys measure the new hire experience in areas ranging from the recruitment process to the work environment, pinpoint the causes of ‘quick quits’ (new hires that leave in the first 90 days), and poll supervisors about the new hire quality. WebExit automates the exit interview process and provides detailed insights into reasons for employee turnover.

By utilizing the SilkRoad and Nobscot products in tandem, companies will be able to:

  • Receive continuous feedback about new hires’ RedCarpet experience, providing a roadmap for improving company information provided in the RedCarpet portal.
  • Address problems uncovered in FirstDays and WebExit surveys by utilizing the tools provided by RedCarpet.
  • Access applications from both companies with a single login, enabling easy switching between RedCarpet and FirstDays/WebExit accounts.
  • Trigger FirstDays and WebExit surveys from RedCarpet, including time-saving automatic population of employee data into the both survey systems.

“The mission of our RedCarpet software solution is to help companies improve their onboarding, recruiting and retention strategies. Nobscot’s new hire and exit interview survey platforms complement that objective perfectly,” said Flip Filipowski, Executive Chairman and Co-CEO of SilkRoad. “This partnership gives our customers valuable new tools for measuring employee satisfaction, evaluating new hire quality, and combating turnover.”

“Using our new hire, quality-of-hire and exit surveys in conjunction with SilkRoad’s RedCarpet platform will shed light on problems ranging from mistaken expectations about the job and company to unwelcoming co-workers, weak on-the-job training and other reasons for early attrition,” said Beth N. Carvin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nobscot. “Identifying these kinds of problems is the first step to correcting them and paving the way for increased employee retention.”

No in-house software installation is required to use FirstDays or WebExit, all questions are customizable to meet individual company needs, and survey results can be examined by department, division, location, gender and other parameters as well as companywide with a click. Deployment and customization assistance are provided by Nobscot HR and technology professionals.

For more information on the benefits of utilizing RedCarpet and FirstDays and/or WebExit together, email info@nobscot.com or bizdev@silkroad.com. Nobscot and SilkRoad invite you to attend a free webinar, “Re-Thinking Offboarding: Using Exit Interview Data to Slash Unwanted Turnover,” on April 11, 2013, at 2pm EST. This upcoming webinar will explore a data-driven strategic approach to exit interview management, and Beth N. Carvin will reveal best practices and tools that will help you make the most of your exit data and significantly reduce the turnover of high-potential, diverse and other critical employees.

The University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand has selected SilkRoad technology, inc., the leading provider of social talent management solutions, to streamline its onboarding and compliance management processes.  University of Otago will be implementing RedCarpet, SilkRoad’s onboarding and life event solution that creates a personalized employee experience and reduces costly new hire paperwork. RedCarpet will bring new employees into the University of Otago easily and effectively, engaging them and making them productive from day one.

The University of Otago is New Zealand’s oldest university. With the large numbers of students and faculty in multiple schools within the university on different campuses, the need for a streamlined, customizable onboarding solution was paramount. The University of Otago had invested large amounts of time and energy into refining their institution’s messaging and content, and needed a solution that would deliver an exceptional experience and continue to set them apart as leaders in the tertiary sector.

“The flexibility to be able to create a personalized onboarding experience was a key factor in our decision to select SilkRoad,” said Shane Sturgeon, HR Projects Manager for the University of Otago. “The ability to cater to different roles and responsibilities will be a huge asset to us and provide our new employees with a much more engaging start to their new role.”

SilkRoad’s RedCarpet, the number one employee onboarding and life events solution on the market, goes beyond just onboarding to handle any employee life cycle event.  In addition to onboarding, these transitions can include offboarding, crossboarding, promotion, transfers, mergers and acquisitions, medical leaves and any other life event an employee may experience. The cloud-based HR employee onboarding software helps HR staff quickly improve productivity, go paperless, increase day one readiness, and reduce legal risks. RedCarpet eliminates the need for fragmented paper-based systems and integrates with most of the HR applications your company currently uses.

Micro Focus Strengthens Recruitment Programs with SilkRoad Technology…from SilkRoad Technology

April 10, 2012

Leading global software company, Micro Focus, has invested in SilkRoad technology’s recruitment solution, OpenHire. Following a successful installation in the company’s Belfast office, where the software has facilitated the employment of 15 new staff, OpenHire will now be deployed across the company’s offices worldwide.

HRchitect featured SilkRoad in our release of The Suite Life of Integrated Talent Management and also includes them in our list of top Talent Acquisition Systems vendors that businesses should consider. SilkRoad competed in the HRchitect Beauty Pageant on Onboarding Systems in January 2009, and the HRchitect IRONMAN on Mid-Marketing Talent Acquisition Systems on June18, 2010, where they were crowned the winner of each. Micro Focus, a FTSE 250 company with international operations, recently reviewed its recruitment practices. Prior to its relationship with SilkRoad, a global provider of social talent management solutions, Micro Focus relied mainly on recruitment consultants to source potential employees. However, the company was keen to streamline its hiring process and bring it under the management of its in-house human resources department for most new hires across the organization.

OpenHire is an easy-to-use, enterprise class content management software that accepts and organizes applications from multiple sources, including emails and social networks. The solution’s highly advanced, knowledge based search options streamline the retrieval process, making every step in recruiting (from screening to evaluating) more efficient.

“It quickly became clear that OpenHire was developed with the end user in mind.  We needed a product that was flexible and could be tailored to our unique requirements. A key reason for our decision to invest in SilkRoad technology was the speed of OpenHire implementation,” said Paul Milnes, head of compensation & benefits, Micro Focus. “At only four weeks this has helped us to recruit 15 new staff in our Belfast office very effectively and in a shorter period of time than would have happened under our previous practices.”

In addition to the operational benefits achieved by bringing this function in-house, Micro Focus expects to make financial savings thanks to its use of OpenHire software, reducing the cost per hire. The company also intends to implement SilkRoad’s leading onboarding solution, RedCarpet, to help new employees integrate seamlessly into the company’s systems and culture.

“OpenHire helps organizations reduce advertising and agency costs, while improving the candidate experience throughout the recruiting process and decreasing time per hire,” said Giles Hodson, Managing Director for Northern Europe at SilkRoad. “We are delighted to be able to support Micro Focus to grow its talented team.”

SilkRoad technology, inc., a leading provider of talent management solutions, announced today the company was named the winner of the June 2010 HRtechnology Ironman. SilkRoad’s market leading Life Suite product OpenHire competed in the Mid-Market Talent Acquisition Systems Ironman competition on June 18th.

The competition is the latest in HRchitect’s educational webinar series and has software vendors compete against one another to prove who can “swim better,” “bike stronger” and “run faster.” HRchitect recently developed the series of webinars as a way to educate consumers on the human resource technology choices available.

In these fast-paced web events, vendors compete head-to-head in each category. Spectators then vote after each portion and the vendor with the most total votes receives the medal and is named HRtechnology Ironman. In the competition vendors must prove their advantages over the competition in each category including:

Swimming – In this category vendors discuss company history, overview, specific identity, financial viability, marquee clients and leadership team.

Biking – During the biking portion the vendors showcase their product’s functionality, technology/integration, usability and configurability.

Running – In this segment of the competition the vendors discuss the key differentiators of their solution and their company.

Media Interviews – Finally, the vendor is judged based on answers to questions from the audience.

At the conclusion of the competition, SilkRoad technology was voted the winner and named HRtechnology Ironman.

“We enjoyed participating in the webinar and are honored the audience selected us as the Ironman winner,” said Thomas Boyle, Director of Product Strategy, SilkRoad technology. “We always welcome any opportunity to show what sets our products and company apart from other vendors.”
