TEDS Releases New Version of Talent Management Suite with Workforce Planning and Management Module…from TEDS

November 12, 2009

Workforce management dashboard highlights newly-upgraded TEDS suite, which now delivers more power and ease of use

HRchitect featured TEDS in our May 2008 release of The Suite Life of Integrated Talent Management and also includes them in our list of top Talent Management Systems vendors that businesses should consider. If you are looking for a new Talent Management System, or any HR system, talk to HRchitect first. We have unparalleled knowledge of the HR and Talent Management vendor community and can save you time and money in selection and implementation.

TEDS, Inc., originator of the organic, fully integrated Talent Management solution, today released version 9.1 of its Talent Management Suite. The suite’s newest module, TEDS Workforce Management, provides companies with another key competitive advantage.

“Intelligent workforce planning and management are critical to gaining and preserving a competitive advantage in the marketplace,” said Joe Ellis, chief executive of TEDS. “That is why we have always had strategic workforce planning capabilities built into the TEDS Talent Management Suite. In this new module however, we have made all these functions and capabilities easily accessible via our new workforce manager dashboard. This puts unprecedented power, effectiveness and ease at the fingertips of workforce planners.”

TEDS Workforce Planning & Management enables organizations to define corporate business initiatives, measure workforce readiness to accomplish business goals, manage the progress toward initiative completion and track hiring for these initiatives. This new module leverages existing talent data and interacts with all other modules of the TEDS Talent Management suite to deliver a new dimension in workforce management.

“TEDS Workforce Planning & Management enables workforce planners to create strategies and initiate actions that ensure workers gain the necessary knowledge and skills to meet organizational goals,” said Lynda Helton, TEDS’ vice president for research and development. “Workforce planners and managers can monitor the progress of employees toward competency achievement, skill gap closure and organizational readiness for individual projects and for overarching business initiatives across the enterprise.”

The new module minimizes the negative effects of external forces on enterprise performance including fluctuations in the economy, new regulations, increased competition, and market demands for new or improved products or services, while pre-empting reactionary responses to these market influences.

Organizations can use TEDS to ensure that their workforce planning and management strategy aligns with and supports their overall talent management strategy. Company-wide workforce planning easily replaces fractionalized planning by different departments or business units.

TEDS Workforce Planning & Management ensures an organization’s talent is ready when needed.

A component of the TEDS suite of integrated, single-platform software solutions, TEDS Workforce Planning and Management provides its own powerful capabilities while also wrapping around all other TEDS Talent Management Modules to access and leverage employee data residing in those modules.

TEDS’ latest release provides enhancements to other software modules, including TEDS’ RTC Power (roles, tasks and competency management) and TEDS Job Vision, which manages staffing and talent acquisition.

TEDS Consortium Meeting Set for March 25th & 26th…from TEDS

March 6, 2009

HRchitect featured TEDS in our May 2008 release of The Suite Life of Integrated Talent Management and also includes them in our list of top Talent Management Systems vendors that businesses should consider.

The next biannual meeting of TEDS Consortium, a dynamic collaborative forum of human capital experts from over a dozen world-class companies, is set for March 25th and 26th. The meeting will be hosted by Dominion Resources at its Richmond, Virginia Headquarters. Dominion Resources is one of the nation s leading producers of energy and has been a member of the Consortium since 2002.

The TEDS Consortium agenda will include information on future TEDS software releases and fast track development, task team reports, success stories, key learnings, and stretch topics to engender thinking about workforce needs and solutions in the future.

Joe Ellis, TEDS CEO, along with members of TEDS’ Executive Team, will share strategic direction, market trends in Talent Management and new customer information in an open forum.

The highlight of all Consortium meetings is the Consortium members sharing sessions, said Mr. Ellis. Consortium members are innovators in corporate learning and talent management. Their visionary input is invaluable to our development of the TEDS Integrated Talent Management Systems.

TEDS team members will share functional and technical roadmaps for current product enhancements and new product development. Consortium members can provide feedback for future enhancements and new products based on their own requirements and projected market-wide needs. No other forum provides this level of strategic dialog with TEDS’ strategic partners

A presentation on the advanced functionality of TEDS Version 9.0, the next major release of the TEDS Integrated Talent Management System, will be another highlight of the meeting.

Networking is always cited by Consortium members as an important non-agenda benefit. Company leaders interact with their peers in other companies throughout the working sessions and social events. Such networking often leads to process sharing, problem solving and benchmarking.

Founded in 1992, the TEDS Consortium is the only organization of its kind. It is dedicated to the continuous innovation and improvement of TEDS enterprise-wide talent management solutions. The Consortium plays an essential role in reviewing and upgrading product functionalities, recommending the creation of new talent management products and services, and accelerating product development. Members include Boston University Corporate Education Center, Chrysler, Dominion Resources, Eastman Chemical, Norfolk Southern, Nortel, Philips Healthcare, Sandia National Laboratories, Steelcase, Verizon, and TEDS. However, all organizations that use TEDS benefit from the Consortium’s vision and recommendations. By previewing advances in TEDS talent management products, Consortium members can more effectively plan for upgrades and expansions within their enterprises.

February 17, 2009

Mountain States Health Alliance implements the TEDS Talent Management Suite to maximize performance.

HRchitect featured TEDS in our May 2008 release of The Suite Life of Integrated Talent Management and also includes them in our list of top Talent Management Systems vendors that businesses should consider.

TEDSR, Inc., originator of the fully integrated enterprise-wide Talent Management solution, announced today that Mountain States Health Alliance, headquartered in Johnson City, Tennessee., has selected TEDS as its new Talent Management system. Implementation is already under way.

Mountain States Health Alliance provides comprehensive health care to people in 29 counties in Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina through its network of 14 hospitals, 21 primary/preventive care centers and 13 outpatient care centers. Mountain States is nationally recognized as a leader in healthcare technology and was recently honored as one of the Top 100 Most Wired healthcare systems in the United States. The system’s Johnson City Medical Center is the 67th largest heart hospital in the nation by volume.

TEDS, Inc. is an Atkins, Virginia-based software development and consulting firm that provides talent management software systems and support services for world-class companies and organizations throughout the U.S. and around the world.

“The partnership with TEDS is an opportunity to build a more robust, integrated system for talent management in health care,” said Elaine Smith, Mountain States Assistant Vice President of Organizational Development. The power of this system lies in the ability to link learning activities, competency management, performance measurement and workforce planning activities, Smith added. “With rapid changes in technology and medical care, healthcare providers will benefit from access to high-quality, just-in-time learning while managers and senior leaders will have up-to-date information on the status of the learning enterprise from the department to system wide levels. Mountain States is committed to supporting continuous learning for all our Team Members so that we can continue in our mission of providing excellent, Patient-Centered Care to the patients and families we serve.”

Mountain States will use the TEDS Learning Management System Learning on DemandT module to distribute and manage Team Member training and education. The TEDS RTC PowerT (Roles, Tasks and Competencies) module will be implemented to manage the healthcare system’s Team Member competencies.

These powerful software modules will assist Mountain States in recruiting, developing and managing talent while monitoring and maximizing performance throughout its entire system.

TEDS Learning on Demand and TEDS RTC Power are modules within the software firm’s total Talent Management system. By implementing these two modules, Mountain States has established the foundation for full Talent Management. The entire system can be easily implemented in stages because the TEDS system is fully integrated and all modules communicate with each other through a single, common database.

“Health care is facing some serious challenges as we move forward, especially in the area of personnel,” said Dennis Vonderfecht, Mountain States president and CEO. “Mountain States is dedicated to being on the front lines of using the best technological resources to help meet these challenges. Implementing TEDS in our system will be a great asset in reaching that goal.”

TEDS and Mountain States have also agreed to partner in the further development of health care-specific learning processes, competencies and business practices aimed at achieving optimum performance in the healthcare setting. The companies plan to share these experiences with other large organizations in the healthcare industry.

“We are very pleased to have been selected by Mountain States Health Alliance,” said Joe Ellis, TEDS’ President and CEO. “Mountain States is dedicated to using the latest technologies to make health care safer and to constantly improve the delivery of healthcare services. Their excellence in patient care is nationally recognized. Our mutual dedication to maximizing workforce talent and capabilities through innovative technologies makes this partnership very special.”
